Hamas condemns Kosovo’s announcement to open an embassy in Jerusalem

Hamas Movement strongly condemned the announcement by the Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs to open its country's embassy in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

"The announcement of the opening of an embassy for Kosovo in Jerusalem is a flagrant violation of all international decisions and humanitarian charters, and a flagrant bias towards the Zionist occupation," said the movement’s spokesman, Hazem Qassem, in a statement.

He added that this decision by a country like Kosovo comes with encouragement from the steps of normalization that some Arab parties have taken with the Israeli occupation.

Hamas movement stressed that the city of Jerusalem will remain Palestinian, and its identity will remain authentic Arab, and all attempts at occupation will not change the facts of history anything.

On Sunday, the Kosovo Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement, the opening of a diplomatic mission in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

On September 4, 2020, former US President Donald Trump announced the Kosovo and Israeli occupation agreement to establish diplomatic relations.
