Israeli soldiers assault elderly man, arrest his son in Jericho

Israeli occupation forces attacked an elderly Palestinian and detained his son near the village of An-Nuweima, to the north of the West Bank city of Jericho, after attempting to prevent the former from seizing their privately-owned agricultural tractor.

Eyewitnesses said that the occupation beat up the 65-year-old Hussein al-Zayed and arrested his son Tawfik, 35, when they tried to prevent the soldiers from taking away their tractor in Nuwaima area to the north of Jericho.

They added that Palestinian Red Crescent crews took Hussein to hospital for treatment.

The Palestinian residents of Al-Nuwaima village are subjected to all kinds of violations and harassment by the Israeli occupation forces as a means of forcing them to leave their lands in order to control it.
