The participants in the funeral demanded accounting for the Israeli occupation and work to free the prisoners, who are suffering diseases and the policies of deliberate medical neglect, by the Israeli prison administration.

The Israeli occupation detained the body of the martyr al-Khatib in refrigerators for a period of 5 months, before he delivered his body to his family yesterday.

In April 2001, the Israeli occupation forces arrested the prisoner Al-Khatib, after raiding his house in Bethlehem, against the backdrop of his resistance activity during the uprising, and his family waited for his release day by day, before he was martyred due to the policy of deliberate medical negligence.
