A new settlement project to be built in Salfit

The head of the official Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, Walid Assaf, announced today, Sunday, attempts to establish a settlement project in Al-Ras area, west of Salfit city, in the northern occupied West Bank.

Assaf stressed that there are attempts to establish a large settlement project in Al Ras area, west of Salfit, indicating that the settlement plans proposed in Jerusalem come to complete the closure of the city and its Judaization.

He warned of increasing settler attacks, under the protection of the occupation government, in the coming days on several towns and villages in the West Bank.

Moreover, he stressed the need to activate the guard committees in all villages that are constantly exposed to settler gang attacks, calling on all village councils and citizens to confront settler attacks through an organized scheme to enhance the citizens' steadfastness.

About 650,000 Israeli settlers live in settlements built on Palestinian lands in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
