Hamas praised the statements of Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra, in which he reiterated his country’s rejection of normalization with the Israeli occupation, criticizing the growing information about new attempts in the region to engage in this circle.
Head of Hamas’ political department abroad, Sami Abu Zuhri, said: “We in Hamas are proud of Algerian statements, and we express our support for them.”
Abu Zuhri indicated that these statements constitute “a bulwark in the face of attempts to expand the occupation in the Arab region, especially in Africa.”
Lamamra affirmed that “Algeria refusal to normalize,” calling on “others to respect his country’s decision rejecting normalization.”
He pointed out that “Israel’s accession to the African Union contradicts the inalienable right of self-determination in the Union,” noting that “all Arab African countries opposed Israel’s accession, except for Morocco.”
