The Israeli occupation intelligence released Jerusalem governor Adnan Ghaith today, Sunday, March 20th, on a bail set at 10 thousand NIS.
The Jerusalem Governorate proclaimed in a press release that the release of the governor was after continuous attempts and pressure exerted by the occupation intelligence for enforcing new punitive measures against him.
The governor refused through his power of attorney to be subject to these unfair and outrageous measures, so he was released under a personal bail of 10 grants in local currency.
On Saturday, the occupation offense forces stopped Ghaith from traveling through the Alkarama crossing where he was headed to Saudi Arabia. He was officially stopped, questioned, and then arrested until he was finally released today morning and sent to court.
Following his release, Ghaith stated, “on this land, there is always something worth the sacrifice. Jerusalem deserves the most precious of sacrifices. ”
He also highlighted the importance of turning our undivided attention towards the issue of the Palestinian prisoners. He also exposed the numerous racially discriminative violations these prisoners undergo on a daily basis- especially as they get ready for an extensive hunger strike on the 25th of the current month.
He also added that Jerusalem will remain central to the Palestinian cause and that the end of the occupation is only eminent while he called for Palestinian national resistance against the Israeli apartheid regime until Palestinians reach their dream of gaining liberty and autonomy over their land
