Israeli occupation bulldozers demolished Tuesday, 17 January 2023 a two-story Palestinain house in the village of Beit Safafa, southeast of occupied Jerusalem.
Local media sources reported that Israeli occupation forces invaded the village of Beit Safafa and prevented the Palestinian residents from approaching the vicinity of the house belonging to the Palestinain family of Sinokrot.
Israeli occupation forces demolished the inhabited Palestinain building which included 4 apartments leaving its people homeless under the pretext of building without a permit.
Palestinain residents of Beit Safafa expressed their anger over the Israeli occupation’s continued demolition of Palestinian homes and the displacement of their owners under various pretexts.
In the same context, the Israeli occupation Local Planning and Building Committee in occupied Jerusalem approved a new route plan for the light rail linking east and west of occuiped Jerusalem in a preparatory step to confiscate and demolish more Jerusalemite homes.
Palestinian towns and villages in the occupied Jerusalem have seen increased demolition orders by Israeli forces, aiming to force the Palestinian residents to leave their own lands under the pretext of building without a permit.
In 2022, Israeli occupation forces forcibly demolished more than 209 inhabited Palestinain facilities in various areas of occuiped Jerusalem. Israeli occupation also confiscated a number of Palestinian-owned lands and properties in favor of Israeli settlers’ expansion most notably the land of Hamra in the Silwan neighborhood.
