Israeli Occupation Forces attacked Monday evening, September 26, 2022 a solidarity sit-in calling for the release of the bodies of Palestinians who were killed by Israeli forces.
Israeli forces reportedly deployed its soldiers throughout the town of Beit Ijza, to the northwest of occupied Jerusalem, and attacked residents’ homes and participants of the sit-in with rubber-coated steel bullets, stun grenades, and tear gas canisters.
The sit-in called the Israeli authorities to hand over the bodies of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces.
Withholding bodies of dead Palestinians and not return them to their families is a cruel practice and a violation of International Humanitarian Law and United Nations Convention against Torture, said the Haifa-based Adalah – The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel.
